SMAS Student Survey Results

Things are changing in Adult Education.  We have a new system - the Regional Consortia system.

You can learn more about that here and here.

To provide the best Adult Education possible, we need to know what students want, need, and know.

So we asked them!

San Mateo Adult School students created a survey.

In June, they asked the Morning ESL students, the Evening ESL students, and GED, English, and Citizenship students.

They divided the students by country and language and they helped the students in their home languages whenever possible.

Last week, San Mateo Adult School Students attended a big planning meeting for ACCEL, our Regional Consortia.

You can read Morning Student Council President Marco's report about the meeting here.

You can go to these links to the see the results of the Student Survey:

Not every school and ever Regional Consortium is including students in the planning process.

We hope they will.

After all, as Marco says, "...including us in this planning would be very helpful.  I mean, what would be better than hear directly from us, the people they are trying to serve."

Very true.

If you know students at other schools, you can share this blog post with them.

We need all the Adult Education students in California to share what they know and need.

And we need all the Regional Consortia to listen.
