Winter Break 2014

The last day of school is Friday, December 12. 


The school office will be open from December 15 to 19 from 8 am to 4 pm. 

The school office will be closed from December 20 to January 5.

The Spring Semester will begin Tuesday, January 6 for ESL Students.

You can go to smace.org to see the Spring Class Schedule.


We will have 2 new classes for ESL Students:  Reading Level 1 and Reading Level 2.

The Reading classes will help ESL  students gain new skills in reading and vocabulary.

You can take a new Reading class and also take a Conversation, Pronunciation, Writing, or Job Search class.

Here are some ways to keep your English strong during the break:

3.  englishspeak.com  (you can set the directions for many language)

4.  elllo.org

5.  ESL lessons on Youtube  (search for "ESL grammar" or "ESL vocabulary" or "ESL present perfect" or "ESL vocabulary for restaurant job" or whatever else you want or need)

6.  Pronunciation lessons on Youtube

7.  Make flash cards and review them

8.  Look for verbs, articles or new vocabulary in newspapers or magazines

9.  Learn new vocabulary and use it at work or with friends and neighbors

10.  Write down how you keep your English strong during the break.

And of course, it is important to keep your spirit, friendships, family, and community strong, too.

Winter Break is a good time to connect with the people, places, and activities which restore your strength and energy and rejuvenate you.

Rejuvenate means:  Become young again.


Then you will be ready to return to school in January, refreshed and renewed.
