Yuliia, Maricruz, Marco, Marina, Melika
and Teacher Lisa, the Staff Advisor for ESL Student Council

Their workshop explained the value of a strong student community and student leadership.

They talked about the challenges and the benefits.

Sometimes it is difficult to create community.

Sometimes it is difficult to support student leadership.

But the rewards are very big.  A strong school.  Strong learners.

The benefits are outweigh the challenges.

Everyone who came was very impressed with the workshop.  The students did a fabulous job of communicating the information in an interesting and effective way.  Everyone learned a lot.

Teacher Cynthia recorded the workshop on video.  When the video is ready, she will share it here and on the San Mateo Adult School page on Facebook.

Be proud, SMASrs.  Our school and student community are so good and so powerful.  They are making a big contribution to the San Mateo community and beyond to the whole State of California.
