ESL Student Karen: Adult School Is the Most Complete Help

Evening ESL Students celebrated Adult Education Week with an Essay Contest.

Essay Writer Karen Munoz Cunille, a student in Teacher Andy's class, shares her essay here:

Since I came to the USA, I've been learning English lanugage in different ways by relating with people, listening to music, and going to Adult School.  But for me, the most complete help I've gotten is going to Adult School because it helps me to improve my English skills, get confidence to talk to people and be a good citizen.

Adult School has given me the opportunity to improve my English skills by learning vocabulary in class.  Every day, at least I learn one or two things new.  Also on my reading, writing and grammar skills at the time the teacher corrects me when I am doing wrong so I get better.

Besdies, I am getting more confidence when I am out of school talking to people because I'm not afraid to make mistakes.

Last but not least, the most important thing I like about Adult School is how it cares about people.  It's a school that everyone can afford because of its low tuition.  And also because they bring guest speakers like the recycling guest.  That speaker makes me be aware of the situation we are living here in Peninsula about recycling and garbage.  It really impressed me the fact how I can be a big help to the community just by separating my garbage at home.

Thank you, Karen, for sharing your essay and inspiring others.
