CCAE: Join the Family!

Adult Education matters!  Right?  Right!

We worked hard to save Adult Education.  We wrote letters, sent emails, wore red t-shirts, and went to Sacramento.

So did CCAE.

What is CCAE?

CCAE is California Council for Adult Education.

What is that?

A group of people who care about Adult Education - teachers, students, staff, administrators, anyone who cares about Adult Education. 

What do they do?

They are like a family.

Different people working together for the same purpose:

To keep Adult Education strong and make it better. 

In the hard times of the past 5 years, they helped Adult Education survive.

And now they are working to help it recover and become strong again.

Should I join?

Yes!

Why?

Because:

1. It’s doing great work. CCAE has hired lobbyist Dawn Koepke.  Assistant Director Tim Doyle will tell you, she did an amazing job in Sacramento, explaining to the Governor and the State Legislature why Adult Education matters.  And she's still doing an amazing job, making sure Adult Schools can serve people in the best way possible, as we recover from the hard times.

2.  CCAE is working to make sure Adult Schools are part of the planning and preparing for the new system of Regional Consortiums.  Adult Education survived the hard times.  We made it through.  But there is still work to do.  Now we are getting ready for the new Regional Consortiums.  These are groups of Adult Schools and Community Colleges and Correctional Facilities (jails and prisons) and other agencies who will work together to decide who teaches what Adult Ed classes - and where.  It is important that we are part of the process.  

3. There are different rates for different people - teachers, students, etc.  If you are a student or a friend of Adult Education, it is only twenty dollars!
