He joined the SMAS team in August 2019, after our previous campus security specialist, Johnny Jackson, retired. Just like Johnny, Edgar grew up on the Peninsula and is a graduate of San Mateo High School (the high school next door to our school).
I sat down with Edgar to get to know him better and ask him a few questions:
What do you like about working at a school?
The environment, working with the people.
What are your goals?
As soon as my daughter goes to full time school, I want to go back and get my electrical license, become an industrial electrician and work with PGE on wind turbine farms.
How old is your daughter?
She's three years old.
What are your hobbies - what do you like to do for fun?
Fishing. I grew up fishing with my pops.
Where do you go fishing?
In Pacifica - offshore - with lures.
Can you speak another language?
A little Spanish.
It's clear that Edgar is a wonderful new addition to our community. He is kind, smart, observant, and funny. If you haven't had the chance to get to know him, take a moment to stop and say hi!
