Saturday, September 15 is Coastal Cleanup Day. People all over California will help clean up our beautiful coastline and bays. They will work together and pick up trash.
Would you like to volunteer on Coastal Cleanup Day with other students and staff? Teacher Jessica has volunteered to organize a group from SMAS. You can join her, Teacher Cynthia, and other SMAS students on this day.
Here is information from Teacher Jessica:
There are many places around the city that people can go.
The San Mateo Adult School Green Team will meet at 1732 Monte Diablo Ave at 8:45. This is the Harbor View Park. We will walk along the Bay Train and finish at Ryder Park by noon.

I will provide buckets and thin gloves to collect trash. Students could bring thicker gloves if they want. They must wear close toed shoes and be prepared to get a little dirty. This is open to all levels of English students.
Ryder Park will have a free lunch for volunteers.
People can print out the attached waiver, register online, or sign up when they arrive at the park:
I encourage people to wear their SMAS red shirts.
Students can come see me in room 22 if they have any questions.
