Advice for the Homesick

Tammy Tai is a student in Distance Learning.

For her homework in Distance Learning, she watched a video and read about an immigrant.  Her name is Sonia.  Sonia is homesick.  She feels sad and misses her family and home culture.

Do you feel homesick sometimes?

Tammy wrote Sonia a letter with good advice:

Dear Sonia:

Being homesick is a terrible thing.  You miss your country all the time.  I think you need to change your lifestyle.

First, you need to open your heart and look around yourself.  You will find some different things around you.  For example, there are a lot of flowers in the park.  Seagulls and crows argue in the sky.  Next, attend some courses to make some new friends.  Last, relax about 30 minutes per day from whatever you do.  Life is hard.  But if you change your attitude, life can be fun.  Sonia, I believe you can do it!

Thank you to Tammy for sharing her advice about homesickness!

How about you?

What is your advice for Sonia?  What do you do when you feel homesick?  What can help you feel better?
