T-shirt Tuesdays: Wear Red for Adult Ed

Adult Education matters!

Adult Schools help people learn English, get their GED or High School Diploma, gain job skills, become citizens, and help their families.

Good news, right?  Right!

But we have a problem:

K12 Adult Schools still need stable money.

We have money until 2015 and then we have no money that is just for us.

We still need Designated Funding!

Not everyone understands:

* Adult Education - what is it?  why does it matter?

* K12 Adult Schools - what are they?  why are they in trouble?

* Designated Funding - what is it?  why do K12 Adult Schools need it?

So what can we do?

First, we need to understand these things.

Second, we need to help everyone in the community and the government understand.

How can we do this?

You can learn more about these things from your teacher and from Mr. T and Tim.

Ask your teachers for help.  Talk to your classmates.  Have a class discussion.

You can read this blog.

You can read information on other blogs.

Then, when you understand, you can help others understand.

And...

every Tuesday...

you can wear your Red for Adult Education.

You can wear your red Adult Education Matters t-shirt.

Or you can just wear something red - a red shirt,
sweater, sweatshirt, hat, tie, or socks!

How can this help?

If many, many, many people do this - in San Mateo and South San Francisco and Berkeley and Napa and Los Angeles and Fresno and Calexico and Bakersfield and Riverside and Oxnard and Oakland and San Diego and Chula Vista and Eureka and Santa Cruz and Taft and San Jose and Lakewood and Long Beach and Indio and El Centro and San Luis Obispo and Redding and South Lake Tahoe and Placerville and  everywhere where Adult Education matters -

it will bring attention to our cause.

On Red for Adult Ed T-shirt Tuesday, you can think about and talk about and carry the message that

Adult Education Matters!

USA
This is how people have changed things many, many times in many, many places.  They wear the same color or use the same phrase or walk the same direction TOGETHER in order to bring attention to their cause.

It is a simple way but it is a way that can work.

How about it?

Are you ready to rebuild and renew Adult Education?

Are you ready to save K12 Adult Schools?

We've done so much.

And we can and will do more.

Why?

Because Adult Education matters!

We know this and we'll help others know, too -

when we wear

Red for Adult Ed on T-shirt Tuesdays!
