The Event Center is at 1346 Saratoga Drive, San Mateo. The Job Fair will be in the Fiesta Hall.
Job seekers are urged to register online at speier.house.gov for the free event.
Speier stated, “While the unemployment rate in San Mateo County dropped to 6.8 percent in September, the rate remains disproportionately high for recent college graduates at 53 percent. Our boot camp is a great step towards getting that first job after college.”
Each boot camp is sponsored by Rep. Speier and San Mateo County and features employers and workshops where experts explain how to excel in a job interview, craft a resume and use social media to land a dream job. Known as the “TOOLS tent,” job seekers receive invaluable one-on-one counseling on how to conduct a successful job search.
Some of the participating employers include Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Oracle, Kaiser Permanente and the San Francisco International Airport.
Teacher Carolyn Lee will meet students at the Job Fair to help them.
