Independence Day - July 4, 2012
This Wednesday is the birthday of the United States of America. Independence Day or as most people call it, "The Fourth of July" or even, sometimes, just "The Fourth."
There will be no school on this day.
It is a Federal Holiday and all schools, banks and post offices will be closed.
Americans have many traditions for this day. Picnics, games, fireworks, sparklers, parades, and hanging the American flag in front of home or business.
ESL students will enjoy some of them Tuesday morning, July 3rd. Come and find out what the teachers have planned for you! :-)
Here is a good list of places to see fireworks in the Bay Area on the evening of Wednesday, July 4.
Of course, here in the Bay Area, that depends on the fog!
Do you know the famous Mark Twain quote? "The coldest winter I ever spent was the summer I spent in San Francisco." Fog and summer - those two things go together around here!
For more information, here is the blogpost about the Fourth of July from last year.
Happy Fourth of July!
