Pronunciation

English pronunciation is hard, right?!

It's frustrating! And it's hard to do it alone. You need to someone - who knows about pronunciation - to listen to you and help you.

Well, English Central is not a real person - but it is a very helpful website - especially if you have a microphone. You can record your voice and then listen to what you have recorded and compare that to a native speaker saying the same words. Their are two levels to the website - free and premium. You do not need to use the premium (which costs money) to record your voice. You can use the free level.

Now... if you want a real person to help you with your pronunciation, you should check out Teacher Elizabeth's Pronunciation Class Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 2:30 pm in Room 26. You can start the class anytime. For more information, visit the SMART Center or the school website - www.smace.org. B

y the way, if you listen to this blog posting, you can click on the word "listen" at the top of this posting. Can you pronounce the words the same way? Well, maybe not... because that recording sounds like a robot! :-) But it does help you know how to pronounce the words.
