Some of it good - new power for the people of Egypt.
Some of it bad - a terrible earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Some of it uncertain - change in Libya - but in which direction?
We are all connected. What happens here touches the people in Egypt and Japan and Libya. And what happens there touches us here.
Immigrants help everyone understand our global connections because they are connected to two places - with their hearts, their minds, their bodies. They speak two languages and understand two cultures.
If you are an immigrant, it is important for you to share what you know. Your knowledge and experience and wisdom can help all of us.
You need English, of course, to do that here in the U.S. The teachers and staff at the San Mateo Adult School are here to help you with that. And we value what you can teach us, as well.
