Account Update -- Balance more than $10,000 in our account.
Old/Continuing Business:
1. Benches for outside the classrooms; still evaluating different estimates and ideas – project might cost $2,500-$3,000 for 4 more benches.
APPROVED: No more than $3,000 for at least 4 benches, with final style and cost to be voted on at next meeting.
New Business:
1. Please, please, PLEASE do not sit on tables in the classrooms or any other tables at the school – they will break, hurting both students and the tables. Thank you for your cooperation.
2. Student lounge vending machines:
We’d still like to sell more fresh items in the machines (sandwiches, fruit, juices, etc.) and for a lower price. Give your ideas on the foods and prices you want to your student reps.
3. Student bake/food sales and other fund raisers:
Some students have proposed semi-regular bake sales of foods popular in our students’ native countries, with at least some of the profits to go to the school and our student fund.
PROPOSED: Food sales organized by individual classrooms on a small scale and on a trial basis.
4. Other projects/recommendations/ideas:
Ø Improve traffic and pedestrian safety along Poplar Avenue at the school entrance (example – a lighted crosswalk), especially at night. Letter to City Planning Commission discussed.
Ø Next Student ID sales coming in March (date to be announced).
