On May 28th, San Mateo Adult School honored it's wonderful volunteers for donating their time, skills, and energy to help make SMAS the incredible school and community that it is.
Around 35 student volunteers from morning and evening ESL classes received certificates of appreciation at the flag pole. All honored volunteers were invited to lunch or dinner at the SMART Center.
Student Ambassadors, Student Council Officers and Classroom Aides were among those honored.
Tia, Marina, and Patty organized the event. The Saturn Room in the SMART Center was beautifully decorated with a cactus theme - all created by Tia! A delicious meal of beans, rice, chicken, salad, and salsa was served.
It was a very special day to honor very special people - the people who make our community stronger, richer, and more welcoming.
