Congratulations to Johnny Jackson, Campus Safety Specialist at San Mateo Adult School, for being chosen as the May 2019 Classified Golden Apple recipient. Johnny is retiring in June after 40 years of service with the District. Johnny's colleagues Nita Jackson-Allen, Michele Costello and Carlota Zuniga nominated Johnny and this is what they had to say about him:
"The red carpet needs to be rolled out for our one and only JOHNNY JACKSON-his 40 + years will go down in History within SMUHSD. How he takes pride and ownership of his responsibilities is never ending. We all feel safe and secure with him close by."
"Johnny is our campus security, and I've known him for 20 years. I can't pick a specific date for his noteworthy performance because every day of the week he's outside handling business with a great big smile and a kind word for all. He loves his job and it shows!"
"Johnny has gone above and beyond in his duty with us, years ago one of our ESL students suffered a heart attack in the lobby of our school and Johnny saved her life by performing CPR. He was recognized by the city of San Mateo and the fire department. He has formed a great relationship with our students, teachers and classified staff. He is retiring at the end of June, we will miss Johnny and his big smile."
Congratulations Johnny and best of luck in your retirement.
